Central European law firm Schoenherr has promoted Narcisa Oprea to the role of partner in the firm’s Bucharest office. Narcisa, who recently received an award for leading capital markets lawyer in Romania from publishing group FinMedia, joined Schoenherr in May 2008 to head the Romanian Capital Markets team.
Narcisa has over a decade of experience in Capital Markets. She has acted on various landmark listings and transactions, and has been involved, among others, in the listing of Transelectrica, the formation of STK Financial, the issue of Yioula Glasswork’s eurobonds, the listing of Alumil and on the Transgaz IPO. In 2009, Narcisa was appointed as a member of the Selection Commission entrusted with the selection of the international fund manager for Fondul Proprietatea which is currently one of the most important projects of the Romanian Capital Markets. In addition, Narcisa is lecturing a Capital Markets course at the Romanian Banking Institute and is a certified trainer for brokers and investment advisors.
Prior to joining Schoenherr Narcisa was head of the capital markets practice at a Romanian law firm, and until 2002 she was Head of Legal at the Bucharest Stock Exchange, where she was involved in the elaboration of the norms regulating the capital market.
