Vector Energy, the trading division of Rompetrol Group registered in Switzerland, is completing this year the integration of all crude marketing operations within KazMunayGas. In relation to this, Vector Energy has changed its official name to KazMunayGas Trading AG as of April 19, 2013.
This approach supports the strategy of company’s shareholder – JSC “National company KazMunayGas”, to unify all its abroad assets around Rompetrol Group. KazMunayGas Trading AG will be in charge with the distribution of crude oil and petroleum products, with the development of the supply chain ensuring the Rompetrol Group needs, improving the trading operations and access to new markets.
"Taking into account a number of factors (the Kashagan oil field exploitation; the planned volume of oil production in Kazakhstan of 140 million tonnes by 2020), we estimate the increase of oil exports from Kazakhstan up to 30 million tons annually during the next 5 years. Benefitting from the assets infrastructure of the Rompetrol Group, the crude trading operations will become more efficient and profitable thus promoting the national brand of Kazakhstan at the global crude oil market", said Zhanat Tussupbekov, the CEO of the Rompetrol Group.
The crude oil trading operations increased 65% in 2012 in comparison with the previous year and amounted to 10.4 million tonnes versus 6.3 million tonnes a year earlier.
As for fuel sales, the total volume was of 4.69 million tonnes, out of which 2.74 million tons of fuels were produced in Petromidia – Romanian based refinery of the Rompetrol Group. The products were mainly delivered to the markets of Bulgaria, Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine, France, Spain, Turkey, Serbia, Greece and Lebanon.
Recent investments into supply chain infrastructure have allowed the Group to reduce costs up to 31.6 million USD annually for loading and unloading operations. In addition, the new infrastructure enables further integration of all assets of KazMunaiGas in the Black Sea.
Besides crude and oil products marketing and transport activities, Rompetrol owns and operates storage facilities with a total capacity of 1.1 million cubic meters in Romania, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Georgia and Ukraine.
Through its effective investment program in recent years, Rompetrol has become the largest exporter of oil products in Romania in 2012 with the total export volumes worth 1.7 billion USD.
