Proenergy Contract Installations celebrates the commissioning of an ambitious energy efficiency project in the Buzias resort in Timis County. The energy efficiency specialist installed a state-of-the-art combined heating and power plant (CHP) to supply hot water and heating to a complex of three hotels: the two-star Timis, the 3-star Parc Hotel and the four-star Buzias Hotel. Each hotel offers balneary treatment facilities, with the Parc Hotel featuring one of the most modern facilities in the country, both in terms of medical equipment as well as space and comfort. Buzias Resort benefits from a mild, sub-Mediterranean climate, which makes it a popular place for treatments and relaxation. Proenergy’s new energy system significantly lowers local CO2 emissions and thus helps protect this precious environment.
The Society for Financial Investments “SIF Transilvania”, represented by Resort Director Sorin Munteanu, had initiated the project in order to optimize the energetic consumption and the energetic infrastructure of the three hotels in question. Proenergy Contract Installations’ comprehensive energy services contract with the Tratament Balnear Buzias Company includes financing the CHP plant as well as ensuring the technical maintenance during the contract period of eleven years. In return, Tratament Balnear Buzias benefits from a reliable energy supply system, lower energy cost as well as professional maintenance and technical management.
Proenergy Contract Installations installed a 500 kW cogeneration plant (263 kW thermal power, 200kW electrical power), which generates thermal energy as well as electrical energy. The cogeneration unit is equipped with an automation system which enables it to function with the existing boilers, thus assuring the supply of thermal energy for the hotels and their treatment basis and spa centre.
The electrical energy produced by the cogeneration equipment is fed into the power grid through the local operator and supplier ENEL. The hotels are supplied with electrical energy by the same local supplier, ENEL, through a new, additional transformer, which was installed as part of the same project and connected at medium voltage, thus providing a significant cost reduction for the hotels.
