After the donation made in March to the Ploiești Emergency Hospital, Petrotel-Lukoil Refinery gives 100.000 dollars to hospitals in Prahova county, as well as to the county branch of the Red Cross.
In March, the Russian company was one of the first companies to respond to the desperate call of health officials from Ploiești concerning the lack of funds to acquire protection equipment for medical staff at the Ploiești Emergency Hospital. Petrotel-Lukoil Refinery has urgently donated then 10 000 dollars.
This time, the donation is destined to several hospitals involved in fighting the new virus: 20 000 for the Câmpina Municipal Hospital, 30 000 for the CFR Ploiești Hospital, an extra 20 000 for the Ploiești Emergency Hospital, and 30 000 for the Red Cross Prahova.
Petrotel-Lukoil Refinery has also engaged in action to protect the environment and it is the first company to conform to the decision of the Minister of Environment and to buy air monitoring stations, which it has installed in three locations in Ploiești. Moreover, the company has taken action in the long-standing problem concerning waste management, greening the historical waste deposit ditch from Teleajen, which has accumulated waste oil products for more than a century.
To protect its employees, but also nearby inhabitants, Petrotel-Lukoil Refinery has initiated a thorough check of all the systems of the refinery. Also, now, when the economy is frozen and all the large companies are functioning with the engines running at a minimum, Petrotel-Lukoil Refinery has sent its surplus personnel home with full salaries, not cut by 25%.
