PREMIERĂ: Primul test live 5G Digi Mobil în Ungaria

DIGI Kft. a pus în funcțiune luni, 18 noiembrie 2019, prima stație de bază 5G live a operatorului, la sediul său din Budapesta.

”În ultima perioadă, am organizat și desfășurat mai multe teste de laborator pentru viitoarea noastră rețea 5G în Ungaria. Ieri, echipa de proiect a derulat cu succes primul test în regim de funcționare reală a stației de bază instalate în sediul central DIGI din Budapesta. Este un moment important în evoluția companiei noastre, ținând cont de faptul că intrarea noastră pe segmentul serviciilor de telefonie mobilă, prin rețea proprie, s-a produs în urmă cu aproape șase luni. Acest pas reprezintă o confirmare a angajamentului pe care ni l-am luat față de clienții noștri – să dezvoltăm o rețea modernă, cu cele mai noi tehnologii disponibile în comunicațiile mobile, valorificând expertiza dovedită a echipelor noastre în domeniul serviciilor fixe”, a declarat Dragoș Spătaru, Director General DIGI Kft. și Invitel.

Compania a investit în ultimii ani în dezvoltarea rețelei de fibră optică și a rețelei de telefonie mobilă, conform unei strategii care vizează adoptarea timpurie a celor mai avansate tehnologii din domeniul comunicațiilor electronice, inclusiv a standardelor 5G.

Prima stație de bază emite în spectrul propriu, deja deținut în banda 3.400 Mhz, utilizează 20 MHz de spectru și a fost implementată împreună cu partenerul Ericsson. Practic, din acest moment, orice client DIGI care deține un terminal compatibil 5G poate testa capabilitățile acestui serviciu, în proximitatea sediului central al companiei.

Pe parcursul următoarelor luni, operatorul va testa tehnologia pe diferite stații de bază din rețea, iar ulterior, în funcție de rezultatele testelor și de evoluția alocărilor de spectru, se vor stabili detaliile de implementare.

Ungaria este cea de-a doua piață unde DIGI a început dezvoltarea unei rețele proprii 5G. În iunie, operatorul a demarat roll-out-ul rețelei Digi Mobil 5G Smart în România și stații de emisie sunt deja funcționale live în capitala București și în cateva orașe din țară. Proiectul a fost demarat prin colaborarea cu trei furnizori de importanți – Ericsson, Nokia și Huawei - pentru implementarea tehnologiei 5G în rețeaua din România.

Operatorul a inclus în oferta sa comercială atât servicii de comunicații mobile prin rețeaua 5G, care pot fi accesate de orice abonat Digi Mobil din România fără costuri suplimentare, cât și două terminale compatibile – Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G și Huawei Mate 20x 5G (64 GB RAM și 128 GB RAM).

Digi Mobil în Ungaria

Lansate la finalul lunii mai 2019, serviciile de voce și date mobile în rețeaua DIGI din Ungaria înglobează cele mai recente dezvoltări din domeniul comunicațiilor mobile, utilizând standardul 4G pentru telefoanele de ultimă generație. În același timp, rețeaua utilizează și standardul 2G, pentru compatibilitatea cu telefoanele existente, pentru serviciul de voce. Încă de la lansarea serviciului pe piața învecinată, DIGI a introdus, în mod gratuit, două funcționalități 4G care aduc o calitate foarte bună pentru serviciul de voce, pe terminalele compatibile: VoLTE (voce peste 4G/LTE) și VoWiFi (voce peste WiFi). Serviciile sunt disponibile în localitățile în care acoperirea interioară este într-un stadiu avansat, iar harta de acoperire și lista localităților unde serviciile sunt disponibile spre vânzare pot fi consultate pe site-ul digi.hu.

PREMIERE: The first live 5G Digi Mobil test in Hungary

DIGI Kft., Hungarian branch of European telecommunications operator DIGI Communications N.V., tested live its first 5G base station at headquarters in Budapest, on Monday, November 18, 2019.

"Recently, we have organized and conducted several laboratory tests for our future 5G network in Hungary. Yesterday, the project team successfully carried out the first real operating test of the base station installed in the DIGI headquarters in Budapest.

It is an important moment for the company’s evolution, considering that our entry into the mobile services segment (through DIGI own network) occurred almost six months ago. This step is a confirmation of the commitment we have made to our customers - to develop a modern network, with the latest technologies available in mobile communications, leveraging the proven expertise of our teams in the field of fixed services", said Dragoș Spătaru, the General Manager of DIGI Kft. and Invitel.

The company has invested in the last few years in the development of the fiber optic network and the mobile telephony network, according to a strategy aimed at the early adoption of the most advanced technologies in the field of electronic communications, including 5G standards.

The first base station broadcasts on its own spectrum, already held in the 3,400 Mhz band, uses 20 MHz of spectrum and has been implemented with Ericsson partners. Basically, from this moment, any DIGI client using a 5G compatible mobile phone can test the capabilities of this service, in the proximity of the company's headquarters. During the next months, the operator will test the technology on different base-stations in the network, and later, depending on the test results and the evolution of spectrum allocations, the implementation details will be established.

Hungary is the second market where DIGI has started developing its own 5G network. In June, the operator started the roll-out of the Digi Mobil 5G Smart network in Romania and broadcasting stations are already operational live in the capital Bucharest and in some cities in the country. The project started in cooperation with three major suppliers - Ericsson, Nokia and Huawei - for the implementation of 5G technology in the Romanian network.

DIGI included in its commercial offer both mobile communications services through the 5G network, which can be accessed by any Digi Mobil subscriber in Romania without additional costs, as well as two compatible terminals - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G and Huawei Mate 20x 5G (64 GB RAM and 128 GB RAM).

Digi Mobil in Hungary

Launched at the end of May 2019, voice and mobile data services on the Hungarian DIGI network encompass the latest developments in the field of mobile communications, using the 4G standard for the latest generation phones. At the same time, the network also uses the 2G standard, for compatibility with existing phones, for voice service.

Since launching the service in the neighboring market, DIGI has introduced, for free, two 4G features that bring very good quality for voice service, on compatible terminals: VoLTE (voice over 4G / LTE) and VoWiFi (voice over WiFi) .

The services are available in the localities where the internal coverage is at an advanced stage, and the coverage map and the list of localities where the services are available for sale can be consulted on the digi.hu website.
