Schoenherr, a leading corporate law firm in Central and Eastern Europe, advised Energreen Investment Europe SA on its acquisition of a 17 MWp solar project located in Brasov county. Schoenherr supported Energreen in the legal due diligence exercise, and in drafting and negotiating the transaction documents.
Energreen Investment Europe is a global investment holding that acquires, develops, builds and operates renewable energy technologies. Energreen is aggregating a sizeable differentiated portfolio - in terms of technologies and countries – with the aim of becoming a globally leading group in the generation and sale of renewable energy.
„Although additional pressure existed due to the fact that the negotiations were carried out in parallel with the discussions on the Government’s controversial initiative to amend the country’s current renewable support scheme, the process was swift and smooth, allowing the project to move ahead to the implementation phase as soon as possible,” said partner Monica Cojocaru, who coordinated the team of lawyers from Schoenherr’s Bucharest office.
The Schoenherr M&A-team was lead of Monica Cojocaru (partner, energy and M&A), Anca Velicu (attorney at law, energy and M&A) and Daniele Iacona (head of Italian desk, attorney at law, energy and M&A). The Due Diligence-team was also composed of Simona Chirica (partner, real estate), Cristina Dumitrascu (attorney at law, B&F), Madalina Mitan (attorney at law, real estate) and Cristiana Soare (associate, real estate).
