European independent law firm Schoenherr has hired capital mar-kets lawyer Narcisa Oprea to strengthen the finance team of its Bucharest office. Narcisa was previously partner and head of the capital markets practice at the Romanian firm Bostina & Asosci-ates.
Narcisa has over 10-years experience in capital markets. Before joining the capital markets group at Bostina & Asosciates in 2002, she was Head of the Legal Department of the Bucharest Stock Exchange and took part in the elaboration of the norms regulating the capital market.
She has acted on various landmark listings and transactions. Nar-cisa has been involved, among others, in the listing of Transelec-trica, the formation of STK Financial, the issue of Yioula Glass-work’s eurobonds, the listing of Alumil and on the Transgaz IPO.
Bucharest-based Schoenherr partner Markus Piuk commented: “In this market it is not easy to attract an experienced capital markets lawyer like Narcisa. A lawyer of her calibre is an addition to any firm.”
The hire is the second boost for the firm’s capital markets practice group within a couple months. Earlier in the year Adi Winter, an English solicitor with extensive experience on international capital markets transactions, joined the Vienna team from the interna-tional desk of Clifford Chance’s Milan office.
